![]() ![]() There Aren't Enough Characters Or MapsĪlong with the lack of game modes and difficulty settings is a lack of characters, character unlocks, maps, and all the other basic building blocks of a satisfying fighting game. ![]() Like.what do the various V-triggers and V-skills do? Where does it say? Why should this be information we have to find on YouTube or in game guides? This is just very basic stuff and it's not here.Ĥ. Practice is necessary because there's really a pretty bare-bones tutorial in Street Fighter V, and a surprising lack of information about what things do. There's not enough of a tutorial/information in-game. are nice extras for gamers like me, but arcade and story mode were the core experiences.ģ. ![]() ( Mortal Kombat wasn't allowed, so my go-to fighting game was always Street Fighter as a kid.)Īnyways, online play and VS. I played with friends also, but I spent more time playing alone against the computer, honing my skills and having a blast. I think back to the countless hours I spent playing Street Fighter II and a huge amount of those hours were spent playing against AI. Pretty quickly- unless I have a friend to play with at home or want to brave online play (which was a disaster at first)-I have nothing to do. It's basically only useful to practice with different characters, and only then because there's no arcade mode to do that with instead.Īll of these factors combine to leave me feeling.bored. I'm not even a very good Street Fighter V player, and story mode is way, way too easy for me. This wouldn't be quite such a huge problem if there were simply difficulty modes in the sparse story mode we do have now. Why they didn't just get all the major pieces together at once and launch it all together is beyond me (and strikes me as a terrible decision) but that's neither here nor there. I'm going to forgive the truly terrible story mode that currently exists in Street Fighter V simply because there's a full-fledged story mode releasing, for free, later this year. ![]()
